Upgrade Process

For more information about new features released in the newer version of Qualitia, refer to the Release Notes section. 

Qualitia supports upgrade from v3.10.x. In case you are using an earlier version of Qualitia for Desktop, please contact support.

Prerequisites

In order to upgrade to the latest version, you need to set up an environment.

• It is recommended to back up Qualitia server databases (Master, Project, and Result databases).
• Identify the File Server which you have created previously for keeping Qualitia update packages.
   All the Qualitia users should have Read Access to this folder. 
  
  

Upgrading Qualitia Server

Qualitia administrator user has to initiate the update process applying server updates logging on to the Qualitia Administrator account.

To update Qualitia Server:

1. Open the Qualitia Update Location defined when Installing Qualitia Server.
2. Replace the content with Qualitia Product Update.
    Once the Qualitia Update Package is placed on the designated location, Qualitia intelligently picks it up when logging on as an administrator user.
3. Log on to Qualitia as an administrator user.
4. Once you enter user credentials and click Log On, Qualitia informs the user that the next update is available.
   
5. Do one of the following:
   • If you want to update Qualitia Server, click Yes.
   • If you want to ignore the update and continue working on the previous version, click No.
6. It is recommended to use the updated product versions applying available product updates for seamless user experience.
7. Once you click Yes, Welcome to the Qualitia Setup Wizard screen appears.
   
8. Click Next.
   All the database server details appear.
9. All these fields are displayed in non-editable mode, click Next.
   
   The Project Details screen appears.
   
10. Click Next.
    The Confirm Installation screen appears.
    
11. Click Install.
12. Once installed successfully, click Finish to exit the setup.

Upgrading Qualitia Client

Once the administrator has updated Qualitia Server, other Qualitia users can update respective clients.

To update Qualitia Client:

1. Double-click the Qualitia icon.
   If the server is updated, Qualitia users (other than the administrator) will get a notification about updating Qualitia Client.
    Qualitia users will not get this notification if Qualitia Server is not updated.
   
   
   
2. Once the installation process is completed, click Finish.
