Creating a User
The Users screen in Qualitia, the Administrator can create users to work on projects. These users are categorized into Temporary Users and System Users.
Users required for a short duration and not available in the Active Directory are Temporary Users. Users available in the Active Directory are System Users.
In Qualitia, you can create users using Users Screen.
To create a temporary user:
- On Admin menu, click User. Users screen is displayed with a list of available users in a tabular format.
- Click New. The New User screen is displayed.
- Enter the User ID.
- Enter the User Name.
- Enter an Email ID.
- Clear the Active check box to make the user inactive, if required.
- Select the System check box, if the user is a System user.
- Click OK.
A Temporary user is created with a default password. If you do not know the default password, contact the Administrator to give you a new password.
To create a user from Active Directory:
- On Admin menu, click User. Users screen is displayed.
- Click New. The New User screen is displayed.
- Click Search.
The Search Users screen is displayed. LDAP Users pane of the screen displays a list of users in a tabular form. - To locate a particular user quickly, enter User Name and click Search.
The specified user is displayed on the LDAP Users pane. - Select the specified user from LDAP Users pane.
- Click OK.
Qualitia navigates you back to the New User screen. User ID, User Name, and Email ID fields of this screen display the values of the selected user. - Clear the Active check box to make the user inactive, if required.
The Active check box is selected by default in Qualitia. - Select the System check box, if the user is a System user.
Note: The System check box is not selected by default in Qualitia. - Click OK.
A System user is created in Qualitia. The user is assigned his/her own machine password to log on to Qualitia.
In Qualitia, during installation, a super Admin user is created with administrative privileges. The super Admin user further helps in maintaining projects, users, and roles.
