Create a New Object

In Qualitia Design Studio, you can add objects from multiple sections. You can go to Assets > Objects screen and then start adding new objects based on the test case and task requirements. 

Once created, these objects can be used multiple times in single test case/task or in different test cases/tasks based on the requirements.

Qualitia gives you provision to add new objects on the go while developing test cases and tasks too. These objects then can be modified from Assets > Objects section based on the requirements.

After you publish the test case or tasks in Qualitia Design Studio, you can modify or delete these objects in Automation Studio only.

An Administrator, Project Manager, Lead or Tester users have privilege to add new objects. 

In Qualitia Design Studio, you can add objects from different locations as follows:

Objects Screen

You can add new objects from the Objects screen and then used them while developing test cases.

  1. Sign in to Qualitia Design Studio and in the projects section, click on the desired project name under which you want to add new objects.
  2. From the top menu items, click Assets > Objects.
  3. To create object, click the  icon.
  4. On the New Object screen,
    1. enter object Name,
    2. select object Type and Class,
    3. select Locator Type and enter Locator Value,
    4. add Description, if any, 
    5. and select Hierarchy. 
      In hierarchy, you can select the parent object for the new object to be created. 
  5. Click Done.
    This newly created object will then appear in the Objects list in the left pane. You can select it in the left pane and modify as and when required. 

Test Cases Screen

Qualitia gives you provision to create objects on the go while developing test cases. 

  1. Sign in to Qualitia Design Studio and select desired project and test case where you want to add new objects. 
  2. Add new step in some task and click in the Objects section of the step.
    A pop up appears displaying list of existing objects.
  3. Click Add New Object.
  4. On the New Object screen,
    1. enter object Name,
    2. select object Type and Class,
    3. select Locator Type and enter Locator Value,
    4. add Description, if any, 
    5. and select Hierarchy. 
      In hierarchy, you can select the parent object for the new object to be created. 
  5. Click Done.
    This newly created object will then appear in the Objects section of the step. You can use this object now in other tasks and test cases too.


Tasks Screen

Qualitia gives you provision to create objects on the go while developing tasks. 

  1. Sign in to Qualitia Design Studio and select desired project.
  2. Navigate to Assets > Tasks.
  3. Add new step in some task and click in the Objects section of the step.
    A pop up appears displaying list of existing objects.
  4. Click Add New Object.
  5. On the New Object screen,
    • enter object Name,
    • select object Type and Class,
    • select Locator Type and enter Locator Value,
    • add Description, if any, 
    • and select Hierarchy. 
      In hierarchy, you can select the parent object for the new object to be created. 
  6. Click Done.
    This newly created object will then appear in the Objects section of the step. You can use this object now in other tasks and test cases too.
