The SmartLocator option modifies the object details based on the requirements for dynamic object elements, however, following are some of the known limitations of this functionality which you will observe while working with Qualitia Object Spy.
- This feature works only when the object is added using the latest Qualitia Object Spy. To make this feature work with the existing objects, enable this option from Qualitia Automation Studio (Edit Objects screen) or edit objects using Google Chrome or Internet explorer add-in and enable this option.
- It is not allowed to update object details (such as locater type, value and so forth) while this option is enabled. However, you can disable this option and update object details, if required.
- This feature will not work if you change the HTML tag or structure of the object manually.
- Updated locator value will not be added in the object repository in case the test case is getting executed through Qualitia Bot (erstwhile Offline package).
- Object parameterization is not supported when this option is enabled.
- This feature does not work while executing test cases on the mobile platform.
- While using Qualitia Object Spy on Internet Explorer browser, multiple object identification modes are available such as Left-click, Right-click, and Mouse hover. Support for other than Left-click mode on Google chrome extension is planned in the subsequent releases.
