Installation Process for Excel-Based Dashboards

In order to access dashboards, you must first install and designate a separate data store server (MySQL) for the it. You can designate this data store server at the time of installing Qualitia Server component.

Prerequisites

• Apart from Qualitia prerequisites, ensure you have installed Microsoft Excel 2013 or 2016

Installing Qualitia Server

To install Qualitia Server:

1. Ensure you have activated product license for Qualitia.
2. Open the File Share / folder where you have unzipped Qualitia installable. 

3. Open the Server folder.

4. Run Setup.exe.
   The Welcome to the Qualitia Setup Wizard screen appears.
   

5. Click Next.
   The Database Server Details section appears.

   Database Type	Select the Database server as MySQL.  Beta version supports only MySQL 5.7.14 and above data stores.
   Server	Enter the Host Name or IP address of the Database Server.
   Port	Enter the port number of the Database Server. The default value for MySQL is 3306. Contact Database Administrator for the port number of your database server.
   Database Name	Enter the database name.
   User ID	Enter the database server User ID.
   Password	Enter the database server Password.

   

6. Click Next. 
   Here, you can enter names for the data stores which will be created for the storing your project and test case execution related data.

7. Change the Master Database name, if required.

8. Ensure that the Enable Dashboard option is selected. 

9. Change the dashboard database name, if required. 
   

10. Click Next.
    The Admin User Details screen appears.

11. Enter admin credentials.

    Remember these credentials to access Qualitia as Qualitia Administrator. Qualitia administrator can create new user accounts directly in Qualitia or by accessing user accounts from your local LDAP. 

    User Name	Enter the desired username for the administrator user.
    Password	Enter the desired password for the admin user account.
    Confirm Password	Enter the password again for confirmation.

    

12. Click Next.
    The Qualitia Update Location screen appears.

    Qualitia update location is the network shared location where Qualitia will look for update packages. Qualitia Administrator should copy Qualitia update packages, when they are available, in the respective folders. Users can use the same folders created to save Qualitia installable on the File Server. All the Qualitia users should have Read Access to these folders. 13. Enter the details as follows;

    Server	Enter the location where Qualitia Server will check for updates in future.
    Client	Enter the location where Qualitia Client will check for updates in future.

    
14. Click Next.
15. Specify the ports which you want to use for accessing Qualitia in your environment. By Default, Qualitia Server uses 8887 and License Server uses 8889.
    Ensure you have these ports open from this machine, so that Qualitia clients can access all their project and test case execution-related data. In case these default ports (8887 and 8889) are already in use by some other software, you can change the ports here.    
    
16. Click Next.
    The Confirm Installation screen appears.
17. Click Install.
    The installation will get started and after a successful installation, the Installation Complete screen appears.
     
18. Click Finish to exit the setup wizard.
19. Install Qualitia Client on the same machine.
    Installing Qualitia Client on the same machine helps in initiating upgrade process automatically, when available. 

Installing Qualitia Client

Once Qualitia Server is installed, you can proceed to install Qualitia Client.

To install Qualitia Client:

1. Ensure that the Port 8889 and 8887 are open and accessible from the machine where Qualitia Server is installed.
2. Ensure you have closed all the instances of Internet Explorer.
    Do not open Internet Explorer during the installation process.

3. Open the Client folder where you have downloaded the Qualitia Software package. 

4. Run Setup.exe.
   System will ask for permission to run the application, click Yes.
   The Qualitia License Agreement screen appears.
5. Once you have reviewed the agreement, select Yes, I accept the terms…, and then click Next.
   The Qualitia Installer screen appears.
6. Once installed successfully, click Finish.
   You can now start working with Qualitia.
7. To launch Qualitia, double-click the Qualitia icon on your desktop.
