A new version of Qualitia Automation Studio for Web and Mobile 7.2.x is now available. We highly recommend you upgrade. Find more details here.

Auto-populating Test Cases

Qualitia gives you provision to populate test cases automatically after the acceptance criteria are synchronized from Qualitia Design Studio. Thus, you need not manually add tasks, steps, and actions for each activity separately while creating test cases.

When auto-populating test cases, Qualitia does the following:

  • Automatically creates tasks for each activity present under the selected acceptance criterion.
  • Adds steps present under the activity as task steps.
  • Selects action as NoOps, if task is new or not implemented.

Nomenclature

  • When auto-populating, test case will be created with acceptance criterion description.
  • When creating tasks under auto-populated test case, task will be created with activity name.
  • If a test case with acceptance criterion description already exists, Qualitia auto-populates test case prefixed with the string '_1', '_2', and so on.
  • If a task with activity name already exists, Qualitia creates task prefixed with the string '_1', '_2', and so on.

To auto-populate test cases:

  1. Click Develop > Requirements.
    The Requirements screen appears.
  2. On the left pane, right-click the acceptance criterion for which you want to create test case.
  3. Select Auto-Populate Testcase from the context-menu.
Qualitia automatically creates separate tasks for each activity differently and adds activity steps as task steps.
  4. Update the test case based on the requirements and click Save.

NoOps: Qualitia selects this action for the steps present under the activity when auto-populating test case. Qualitia users are expected to replace this action with required Qualitia action. For the complete list of actions supported when testing Web or Mobile applications, refer to the Qualitia Actions section.
