Editing an Object

The application under test may undergo changes during its life cycle. The object details or the object properties may change if developers modify the code or add new functions to the application under test. In such cases, you may require to edit object details. You may want to change the name of the object, class of the object, description of the object, or parent of the object.Â
To edit an object:
Click Objects Tree > select the object from the list on the right pane of Objects tab.
Click Edit.
Edit the required fields. You can also add or remove object properties by clicking the Add or Remove buttons respectively. The Edit Object resizes up to full screen.Click OK.
The object is saved with the revised fields or properties.Â

- If you want to change locator type and locator value of an object, you must disable the SmartLocator checkbox.
- All the objects captured under different hierarchies can be transferred into another parent object tree or made as an independent one. To Change an Object Hierarchy, perform the following step:
- On the left pane of the Objects tab, select the object you want to move, and drag and drop it to under another parent object or make as an independent object within the left pane.
