(v9.0) ➕ Create Tasks and Task Steps
📚Prerequisites:
User should have the QAS client installed.
Project should have been created.
User should have been assigned to the project.
A test scenario should exist.
🔑Privileges
User should have the below privileges:
Import Feature: Import test cases or other project elements.
Manage Custom Action Code: Oversee the custom action scripts in your projects.
Manage Objects: Control the objects within your testing environment.
Manage Scenarios: Control the scenarios within your test suites.
Synchronize Objects: Keep your test objects synchronized.
Test Development: Create and update task.
View Tasks
Login to Qualitia Automation Studio (QAS) - Client. <insert Screenshot>
Access Develop from left navigation of your QAS - Client to view Tast Explorer screen.
On the Explorer section, you can view existing Tasks. <Include Screenshot>
Click Tasks.
You can search for the existing test cases using the Search bar.
You can find tasks by clicking Find.
This will open a popup window in which you can enter text to find. <include screenshot>
If you have a long list of tasks and you wanted to scroll to the last task you were working on, click on the Scroll to Selection icon.
Creating Tasks independent of Test Case:
Login to QAS - Client.
Access Develop from left navigation of your QAS - Client to view Test Explorer screen.
On the Explorer section, click Task to view Task Explorer.
When no Task exist, you are prompted to Create Task in the Task viewer section.
You can also click + Create from the top left corner of the tabular section.
Clicking Create will open a Create Task window with the following fields:
Name: Enter an intuitive name for the task that is easy to recognize.
Maximum length permitted is 300 characters including spaces.
Description: A brief description about the task.
Once completed, click Save to proceed; otherwise, click Discard.
Repeat steps from 5 through 7 for each additional test case you want to add.
When a new task case is created, there will be a default step 1 created. <Middle Section - Task Editor Section? – include screenshot>.
To add multiple Task Step:
Click Create Step dropdown.
Select Add Task Step or Add Task Step Above based on your context.

Creating Tasks as part of the Test Case:
Login to QAS - Client.
Access Develop from left navigation of your QAS - Client to view Test Explorer screen.
On the Explorer section, you can view existing Test Scenarios.
Click expand option to view test cases.
Click a test case to add test steps.
Click Create Step to add a new step.
Clicking Create Step will add a new line.
Click the + button (Create Step) in the new line to create a new Task.
Clicking + will open a Create Task window with the following fields:
Name: Enter a name for the task that’s easy to recognize. Maximum length permitted is 300 characters including spaces.
Description: A brief description about the Task.
Once completed, click Create to proceed. Otherwise, click Discard.
Note: Creation of Test Steps and Tasks are context sensitive. Assume you have selected a Test Step, when you click on Create Step you will have options to:
Add TC Step
Add TC Step Above
Add Task Step
Add Task Step Above
Assume you have selected a Task Step, when you click on Create Step you will have options to:

Access Develop from left navigation of your Qualitia Automation Studio -Client to view Test Explorer screen.
On the Explorer section, you can view existing Test Scenarios. <Include Screenshot>
Click expand option on the test scenario.
All the test cases under the scenario will be listed.
Click on a test case to view all the Tasks and Test Steps under the Test Case.
Actions you can perform:
Add a new Task
Add a TC step
Add a TC step above
Move a Test Step/Task one line up
Move a Test Step/Task one line down
Web Recording - Where you can record Task and Task Steps.
Mobile Recording - To record Task and Task Steps.
Execute
Create Note
Undo

Login to QAS - Client. <insert Screenshot>
Access Develop from left navigation of your QAS - Client to view Test Explorer screen.
On the Explorer section, click Task to view Task Explorer screen.
Hover mouse over a task to view the Delete option.
Click on the Bin icon.
Clicking the Bin icon will open the Task Deletion window.
Click on Delete to continue; otherwise, click Discard.
You will see a message Task Deleted Successfully.
If a task is used in test case(s), user won’t be able to delete it.
