(8.3.1) Qualitia Update Location

Qualitia update location is the location where Qualitia checks for update packages. Qualitia Administrator should copy Qualitia update packages, when they are available, in the respective folders. All the Qualitia (administrator and other) users should have Read Access to Qualitia Update Location.

How it works ?

Qualitia is designed in a way to check for update packages and pick them intelligently from Qualitia Update Location, whenever available. While installation, Qualitia administrator can configure Qualitia Update Location based on the IT policies and requirements.

What can be the Qualitia Update Location ?

Qualitia update location can be any folder location that is accessible to all Qualitia users (administrator and other users). This can be any folder from Local Machine, Shared Disk Drive in Local Area Network, or Web Server such as Amazon S3 Bucket.

Different Qualitia Update Locations

1. Folder from Local Machine (Not Recommended)
   You can set path to any local drive folder where you are installing Qualitia Server. Setting such paths from local machine is not recommended as there may be difficulties in accessing such paths from the different machines where Qualitia Client is being installed. Setting such paths will not block your installation process though. A sample path on local machine can be as below:
   Server: D:\QualitiaDetail\QualitiaUpdates\Server
   Client:  D:\QualitiaDetail\QualitiaUpdates\Client
   
   
2. Shared Location in Local Area Network
   You can create a folder on File Share and define it as Qualitia Update Location. All machines where you are installing Qualitia Client should have Read Access to this folder. It is suggested that this folder should be created on a machine which is accessible by all Qualitia users and is always up and running. A sample shared location path can be as below:
   Server: //SERVERA/QualitiaUpdate/Server
   Client:  //SERVERA/QualitiaUpdate/Client
   
   
3. Web Server (Such as Amazon S3 Bucket)
   You can create folders on the Web Server like Amazon S3 Buckets and set that location as a Qualitia Update Location when installing Qualitia Server. Setting such locations help upgrading Qualitia instances seamlessly across multiple locations. All machines where you are installing Qualitia Client should have Read Access to this location. A sample cloud link can be as below:

   Client:  https://s3.amazonaws.com/updates/Qualitia/Client
