Importing Requirements from Qualitia Design Studio

Synchronizing stories and epics with Qualitia Automation Studio brings the test architecture prepared using Qualitia Design Studio (JIRA) into Qualitia Automation Studio. After synchronization, testers can start adding tasks and test cases based on the activities planned and observe the acceptance criteria validations.

Please note that stories are available for synchronization only when they are marked to be synchronized in Qualitia Design Studio.

To import requirements from Qualitia Design Studio:

  1. Log on to Qualitia Automation Studio.
  2. Create new project in Qualitia to import the requirements from Qualitia Design Studio.
Make sure you select the Design Studio Integration option when creating project.
  3. Navigate to Develop or Execute tab.
  4. Select the project which is created for Qualitia Design Studio integration.
  5. From the top right corner, click the Design Studio button.
When syncing for the first time, you need to enter JIRA credentials as follows:
    • Enter JIRA URL.
    • Enter the JIRA User ID.
    • Enter the JIRA Password.
    • Click Connect.
    • Select Project from the drop-down list.
Once any Qualitia project is mapped with JIRA project, it cannot be unmapped.
    • Select Epics to be synced from the drop-down list.
(warning) Once epics are successfully synced with the Qualitia project, they cannot be deselected during subsequent sync.
    • Click Sync.
(warning) Synchronizing for the first time may take a long time depending on the project size.
  6. System notifies after the sync is completed successfully. Click OK.

The JIRA credentials need to be added only when synchronizing for the first time. Qualitia saves these details for subsequent syncs.

This page may also occur in case of any network failure or invalid JIRA credentials.

Subsequent Sync

Qualitia users can update the requirements (add or delete Acceptance Criterion, Activities, and Steps) in JIRA even after the story is synchronized with Automation Studio.

Updated requirements will reflect in Automation Studio after subsequent synchronization.

To sync subsequently:

  1. Log on to Qualitia Automation Studio.
  2. Navigate to Develop or Execute tab.
  3. Select the project which is mapped with Qualitia Design Studio.
  4. From the top right corner, click the Design Studio button.
Epics selected previously will remain selected. You can select more epics (if any) to sync.
  5. Click Sync.
A Change Log Review window appears explaining changes being synced from Qualitia Design Studio.
  6. Review the report carefully.
    • To merge all the changes with the existing requirements, click OK.
    • To continue working with requirements without merging changes, click Cancel.

After subsequent synchronization, Stories, acceptance criterion, and activities removed from the Qualitia Design Studio appear in red font in the Automation Studio for easy identification.
