This section includes information about the tasks that need to be performed by system administrators. 

Adding Custom Test Type in ALM

Before importing Qualitia test cases into ALM, you must configure custom test type.

ALM adds all the test cases from Qualitia under this customized test type (that is, QUALITIA-TEST) for easy identification.

Prerequisites

  • You must have Project Administrator privileges to the project you are working in ALM.

Adding Custom Test Type

Follow these steps to configure custom test type.

To add custom test type:

  1. Download the Custom Type from the following location:
    https://qualitiasoftpublic.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/Private+Binaries/Qualitia-CustomTestTypePackage.zip
  2. Extract the Custom Test Type package on the machine where ALM Server is installed.
  3. Open the folder where that package is extracted.
    You will see the following contents. 
  4. Open the Extensions folder and copy all contents.
  5. Paste the copied contents to the following location.
    C:\ProgramData\Micro Focus\ALM\webapps\qcbin\Extensions
  6. Navigate to the folder where you have extracted the Custom Test Type package and copy the CustomTestTypes folder.
  7. Paste the folder at the following location:
    C:\ProgramData\Micro Focus\ALM\webapps\qcbin
  8. Go to Services Console and restart the Application Lifecycle Management service.
  9. Log on to ALM as a Site Administrator.
  10. From the top left corner, click Tools > Update Test Types


If you have multiple custom test types, you may have to merge all the custom types to a single XML and then add to the designated folder as mentioned above.
