Installing the IE Recorder

If you have selected Internet Explorer to record any web application for the first time, Qualitia Automation Web recorder prompts you to install the IE recorder. For more information, refer to Installing the IE Recorder.

The IE Recorder is an add-on that helps you to record a web application on Internet Explorer.

You are prompted to install the IE recorder when you select Internet Explorer to record a web application for the first time only.

Pre-requisite:

• You must have the Administrative Privileges to install the IE add-on.

Also, Qualitia recommends that before you start installing the IE recorder, close all the instances of Internet Explorer.

To install the Qualitia Automation IE Recorder:

1. After selecting Internet Explorer while recording a web application, the following confirmation message is displayed.
   

   

2. Click Yes if you have administrative privileges.

The following Windows confirmation message appears:

1. Click Yes.
   

   

2. If any IE instance is open, a message displays to close all the IE Instances.
   Close all the IE instances, and click Retry.

3. Qualitia Automation Studio launches Internet Explorer.

4. In the launched Internet Explorer, click Settings > Manage Add-ons.

5. Enable the IERecorder.

6. Click Settings > Internet Options > Security.

7. Under select a zone to view or change security settings, unselect the Enable Protect Mode checkbox for all the following options, and click OK:

   1. Internet

   2. Local Intranet

   3. Trusted Sites

   4. Restricted Sites

8. Close Internet Explorer.

9. Relaunch Internet Explorer through Qulaitia Automation Web Recorder.
   The recorder controls toolbar of Qualltia Automation Web Recorder is displayed.
   You can now start recording the web application using Internet Explorer.
