Follow the steps mentioned below to create an Issue in JIRA.
To After you have configured the JIRA settings, you can create issues in two different ways; Manually or Automatically.
For more information about creating issues automatically, please refer to the Auto-populating Test Cases section.
To manually create an issue in JIRA:
- Log on to Qualitia Automation Studio.
- Click Report tab.
- Double-click the Suite Name in which your test case exists. (If the warning appears, click the warning bar and then click Allow blocked content.)
- Expand the test case for which you want to create an issue.
- Click the Iteration Number for which you want to create an issue.
The Test test case details page is displayedappears. - Click the Create Bug link in the upper right corner.
A new window is launched.Enter the Connection Information as follows:
Connection Information details need to be entered only once. System will save this information once you create your first bug successfully. Next time, you can directly jump and fill the bug details unless you want to change the JIRA account details.Host Enter the host name or IP address of the JIRA server. This must be the same host name which you use to log on to your JIRA account from browser.
The host name should include the protocol name such as http or https. For example: Example: https://yourdomain.yourcompany.net or http://yourdomain.yourcompany.netVersion This is the REST API version of JIRA. In most cases, it will remain latest. Contact Qualitia support if you run into any issues.
Username Enter your JIRA username. Password Enter your JIRA password. Once the Connection information is entered, press the Tab button to enable Project and Priority drop down.
appears where JIRA details appear in unedited mode. You can change these details from the Configuration Settings (Defect).Project Select the Project name in which you want to create the bug. If you have already entered this information, it will get selected automatically. This field is mandatory. Enter the required information as follows:
Priority Select the bug priority. Default is Medium. This field is mandatory. Summary Enter the Summary of the bug. This field is mandatory and comes prepopulated with SuiteName - TC Name - Iteration number. Environment Enter the Environment. This field is optional and comes prepopulated with Execution type (Local, Remote, etc.) - OS Name - Browser. Description Enter the Description. This field is optional. Attachment Select this option if you want to attach the test case report along with the issue being created. Only the selected test case details report will get attached. To configure the attachment file size limit refer to the JIRA Documentation. Include Screenshots Select this option if you want to include screenshot images of test case execution along with the attachment. If you do not include the screenshots with the attachment, you will see a cross icon at the place of screenshot image in the attached report. The time required to create and attach a file may take longer depending on your internet connection bandwidth. - Once all the required fields are entered, click Create.
You will see a confirmation dialog with the BUG ID as follows: Click View Bug to view this issue in JIRA.
