Qualitia supports upgrade from v3.14. In case you are using prior version of Qualitia WebDriver, please contact support team for the detailed upgrade procedure.

In order to optimize test execution performance for non-browser test cases, Qualitia now launches the browser only on the OpenURL action. This might cause failing test cases with any browser-based actions used before OpenURL in Qualitia for Web and Mobile 4.1.x and above.
Qualitia users must use the browser-based actions such as MaximizeBrowser and so on after the OpenURL action.

Upgrading Qualitia from 3.14 to 4.1.6

Note

Make sure you are pointing to the correct database server when upgrading to the higher version of Qualitia. Pointing to an incorrect database may result in data loss.

Upgrading Qualitia Server

When upgrading to a new version of Qualitia, you must first ensure that you have taken a back up of your Qualitia databases. Upgrading Qualitia includes upgrading the Qualitia server and client.

To upgrade Qualitia Server:

Note

Executing Setup.exe from file server may take longer time. Therefore, it is recommended to copy Setup.exe in the local temporary folder.

Upgrading Qualitia Client

This activity should be done once the Qualitia Server is updated.

To upgrade Qualitia client:

Upgrading Qualitia from 4.1.x to 4.1.6

Applying product updates will give you an enhanced experience of working with Qualitia Automation Studio for Web and Mobile.

Prerequisites

  • Qualitia WebDriver 4.1.x.
  • It is strongly recommended to back up Qualitia server databases (Master, Project, and Result Databases).
  • If your MySQL database server is installed on Linux machine, you must ensure that the values of column ProjectName and ProjectDBName names are in the lowercase under Master Project database in the table tblprojects. Entering project names in uppercase may cause failing upgrade process.

Upgrading Qualitia Server

Qualitia administrator user has to initiate the update process applying server updates logging on to the Qualitia Administrator account.

To update Qualitia Server:

  1. Ensure you have the valid product license activated for Qualitia.
  2. Open the Qualitia Update Location defined when Installing Qualitia Server.
  3. Replace the content with Qualitia Product Update.
    (info) Once the Qualitia Update Package is placed on the designated location, Qualitia intelligently picks it up when logging on as an administrator user.
  4. Log on to Qualitia as an administrator user.
  5. Once you enter user credentials and click Log On, Qualitia informs the user that the next update is available.

  6. Do one of the following:
    • If you want to update Qualitia Server, click Yes.
    • If you want to ignore the update and continue working on the previous version, click No.
  7. It is recommended to use the updated product versions applying available product updates for seamless user experience.
  8. Once you click Yes, Welcome to the Qualitia Setup Wizard screen appears.

  9. Click Next.
    All the database server details appear.
  10. All these fields are displayed in non-editable mode, click Next.

  11. Click Next.
    The Confirm Installation screen appears.

  13. Once installed successfully, click Finish to exit the setup.

Upgrading Qualitia Client

Once the administrator has updated Qualitia Server, other Qualitia users can update respective clients.

To update Qualitia Client:

Prerequisites

  • Qualitia WebDriver 4.1.6 or 5.x.
  • It is strongly recommended to back up Qualitia server databases (Master, Project, and Result Databases).
  • If your MySQL database server is installed on Linux machine, you must ensure that the values of column ProjectName and ProjectDBName names are in the lowercase under Master Project database in the table tblprojects. Entering project names in uppercase may cause failing upgrade process.
  • Ensure port 8889 is open and accessible from the machine where you are installing Qualitia Server.

Qualitia recommends upgrading to the latest version of Automation Studio in order to take advantage of its new features and functionalities. Based on the Qualitia version you have installed, follow the procedure mentioned below to upgrade Qualitia.

For example, if you are using Qualitia 4.1.x, you need to upgrade to Qualitia Automation Studio 4.1.6 and then you can upgrade to the latest version.
