The Object Repository Manager of MicroFocus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) adds and maintains the set of objects as tsr files. For more information on this, please refer to the UFT One Help Center.

The purpose of having OR objects is to store all the objects present in the tsr file automatically. All you need is to ensure syncing the OR objects whenever the tsr file is updated. You cannot add, modify or remove OR objects manuallyFor the UFT objects that are stored in a Test Shared Repository (tsr), you can specify the path to the tsr file to map the repository with Qualitia Automation Studio.
The UFT objects in the mapped repository are then available in Qualitia Automation Studio and can be used in test cases.

Info

You cannot modify the UFT objects in Qualitia Studio. You can modify the existing UFT objects or add new objects in the mapped tsr file and easily synchronize the changes in Qualitia Automation Studio.

Mapping a tsr file with a Qualitia Project

Once you You need to create a tsr file containing the objects of an application under test, you can using UFT and map it with a Qualitia desktop project. . After you map a tsr file, the objects in the mapped repository are available in Qualitia Automation Studio.

If you have already defined the location of the associated tsr file in the Global TSR Path while creating the project, then you can view the OR objects in the objects screen of the projectyou are not required to map the tsr file again.

To map a tsr file with a Qualitia project:

  1. Go to Admin > Projects Project.

  2. Click Edit to next of the Select a desktop project for which that you want to map with a tsr filerepository, and click Edit.Enter the location of

  3. the tsr file, in Global TSR PathClick the Browse (...) button next to the Global TSR Path field, and then locate and select the tsr file.

  4. Click Save.
    The Objects screen now displays all the objects in the OR tree node of the Objects screen.

Syncing OR Objects with a

Replacing the Mapped tsr File

After specifying the tsr file path in Global TSR path field of Project settings, you need to sync the OR objects every time the associated tsr file is updated.

Before syncing process starts, you can preview to check whether all the objects in the updated tsr files are present to create the required test cases.

  • On the Objects screen, you can view the complete information for all the objects including the last date and time on which it was updated and synchronized from tsr.

  • If you have started syncing the OR objects, then other users cannot sync or cancel the syncing process, until the synchronization completes.

  • If the object name contains a Non-English character, the report might not display it correctly.

  • If the tsr file contains objects that Qualitia does not supports, then report displays such objects in the report.

To sync OR objects with a tsr file:

  • Open the Qualitia project for which you need to update its OR objects.

  • Click the Develop tab.
    Note: If your test cases are ready, then you can sync from the Execute tab.

    • Click the Sync TSR button placed at the top-right corner

    To replace a mapped tsr file for a project:

    1. Go to Admin > Project.

    2. Select a desktop project that you want to map with a repository, and click Edit.

    3. Click the Browse (...) button next to the Global TSR Path field, and then locate and select the new tsr file.

    4. Do one of the following:

    Preview the new set of objects as a report in a the CSV format. The reports report shows all the objects that are new, modified, and deleted by comparing them with the current OR objects.

    After viewing the objects in the report, you can click Proceed or Abort as explained in this table.

    Proceed

    Sync with Map the updated OR objects of in the new tsr file.

    Abort

    Cancel in syncing with mapping the updated OR objects of in the new tsr file.

    After the syncing process completestsr file is replaced, in the OR node, all the deleted objects are highlighted in red along with an exclamatory mark.

    You can replace the deleted objects in the associated test cases with another objects. To know the associated test cases for the deleted objects , refer to Working with View Test Cases Feature .

    Replacing the Mapped tsr File

    Perform the following steps to replace the mapped tsr file with another tsr file.

    To replace a mapped tsr file for a project:

  • Go to Admin > Project.

  • Click Edit to next of the project for which you want to replace its mapped tsr file.

    • Click Browse to locate another tsr file, in Global TSR Path

    Synchronizing OR Objects with the Test Shared Repository

    Before you start synchronizing, you can preview to check whether all the objects in the updated tsr file are present to create the required test cases.

    1. Open the Qualitia project which contains the OR objects that you want to synchronize.

    2. Click the Develop tab.

    3. Click Sync the TSR located at the top-right corner.
