The Object Repository Manager of HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) helps you to add and maintain the set of objects as a tsr file. For more information on this, please refer to the HPE UFT documentation.

From Qualitia you can sync a project with a tsr file, which provides the updated objectsFor the UFT objects that are stored in a Test Shared Repository (tsr), you can specify the path to the tsr file to map the repository with Qualitia Automation Studio.
The UFT objects in the mapped repository are then available in Qualitia Automation Studio and can be used in test cases.

Info

You cannot modify the UFT objects in Qualitia Studio. You can modify the existing UFT objects or add new objects in the mapped tsr file and easily synchronize the changes in Qualitia Automation Studio.

Mapping a tsr file with a Qualitia Project

Once you You need to create a tsr file containing objects of an application under test, you can using UFT and map it with a Qualitia desktop project.  After you map a tsr file, the objects in the mapped repository are available in Qualitia Automation Studio.

If you have already defined the location of the tsr file in the Global TSR path when Path while creating the project, then you can view the OR objectsyou are not required to map the tsr file again.

To map a tsr file with a Qualitia Projectproject:

  1. Go to Admin > Projects Project.

  2. Click Edit to next of the desktop project.

  3. Enter the location of the tsr file, in Global TSR PathSelect a desktop project that you want to map with a repository, and click Edit.

  4. Click the Browse (...) button next to the Global TSR Path field, and then locate and select the tsr file.

  5. Click Save.
    The Objects screen now displays all the objects present in tsr file in the OR tree node.

Syncing OR Objects

After specifying the tsr file path in Global TSR path field of Project settings, you need to sync the OR objects to get the objects that are updated in the tsr file.

  • If a user has added any non-supported objects in tsr, Qualitia displays such objects in the report before synchronization.

  • Replacing the Mapped tsr File

    To replace a mapped tsr file for a project:

    1. Go to Admin > Project.

    2. Select a desktop project that you want to map with a repository, and click Edit.

    3. Click the Browse (...) button next to the Global TSR Path field, and then locate and select the new tsr file.

    4. Do one of the following:

    Preview the new set of objects as a report in the CSV format. The report shows all the objects that are new, modified, and deleted by comparing them with the current OR objects.

    After viewing the objects in the report, you can click Proceed or Abort.

    Proceed

    Map the OR objects in the new tsr file.

    Abort

    Cancel mapping the OR objects in the new tsr file.

    After the tsr file is replaced, in the OR node, all the deleted objects are highlighted in red along with an exclamatory mark.

    Synchronizing OR Objects with the Test Shared Repository

    Before you start synchronizing, you can preview to check whether all the objects in the updated tsr file are present to create the required test cases.

    • On the Objects screen, you can view the complete information for every all the objects including the last date and time on which when it was last updated and synchronized from the tsr file.

    • If multiple users are using the same tsr file simultaneously, anyone can go aheadsr fi  to get the updated set of objects available in tsr. Until the synchronization completes, it does not allow other users to sync or cancel the syncing.

    • In case the application under test consist some non-English characters as object names, CSV may not be able to display it properly.

    To sync OR objects with a tsr file
    • you have started synchronizing the OR objects, then other users cannot synchronize or cancel the synchronization until the process completes.

    • If the object name contains a Non-English character, though it is stored, it may not be stored correctly.

    • If the tsr file contains objects that Qualitia does not support, they are listed in the report.

    To synchronize OR objects with the test shared repository:

    1. Open the Qualitia project which contains the OR objects that you want to synchronize.

    2. Click the Develop tab.
      Note: If your test cases are ready, then you `can sync from the Execute tab.

    3. Click Sync the Sync TSR button placed located at the top-right corner.

    4. Do one of the following:

    If you are replacing a tsr file, you can preview to check whether all the objects are present to create the required test cases.

    To replace a mapped tsr file for a Qualitia project:

    1. Go to Admin > Project.

    2. Click Edit to next of the project.

    3. Click Browse to locate another tsr file.

    To cancel with a updated tsr fileAfter viewing the objects in the report, you can click Proceed or Abort.

    Synchronize with the updated objects of the tsr file.

    Abort

    Cancel synchronizing with the updated objects of the tsr file.
