The IE Recorder is an add-on that helps you to record a web application on Internet Explorer. You While recording a web application, you are prompted to install the IE recorder when you select Internet Explorer to record a web application for the first time only.

Pre-requisiteBefore you start installing the IE recorder, ensure that:

  • You must have the Administrative Privileges to install the IE add-on.

To install the IE Recorder:

  1. After selecting Internet Explorer while recording a web application, the following confirmation message is displayed.

  2. Click Yes if you have administrative privileges.

The following Windows confirmation message appears:

  1. Click Yes.

  2. If any IE Internet Explorer instance is open, a message displays to close all the IE InstancesInternet Explorer instances.
    Close all the IE instances, and click Retry.
    Qualitia Automation Studio launches Internet Explorer.

  3. In the launched Internet Explorer, click Settings > Manage Add-ons.

  4. Enable the IERecorder.

  5. Click Settings > Internet Options > Security.

  6. Under select a zone to view or change security settings, unselect deselect the Enable Protect Mode checkbox for all the following options, and then click OK:

    1. Internet

    2. Local Intranet

    3. Trusted Sites

    4. Restricted Sites

  7. Close Internet Explorer.

  8. Relaunch Internet Explorer through from the Qualitia Automation Web Recorder.

  9. The recorder controls Recorder Controls toolbar of the Qualitia Automation Web Recorder is displayed. If it is not displayed, refresh Internet Explorer.
    You can now start recording the web application using Internet Explorer.
