A task scenario in Qualitia is a collection of steps that you can reuse in multiple test cases. You can add tasks that , which are part of testing multiple scenarios. of the same module of the application under test (AUT). 

For example, User Management is a module in your AUT, then you can create a task to login into the application.

You can add a task in one of the following ways:

  • While Adding or Editing a Test Case
    You can select steps and create a task out of them
  • Adding a Task using the Task Editor Screen

Adding a Task

You can create a task manually using the task editor screen similar to creating a test case manually. 

Unlike the Test Case Editor screen, the Task Editor Screen has the following options only:

  • Add a Step
  • Remove a step that you do not want
  • Add a conditional block
  • Move Up Or Move Down a step
  • Move through the error objects.

To add a task:

From the Collapse

scenario in which you can define multiple test cases that automates the scenarios related to User Management such as adding a user, editing a user, deleting a user, and so on.

Adding a Scenario

Perform the following steps to add a scenario.

To add a scenario:

  1. From the Expand Menu, click Develop.
  2. Click the Tasks tab.
    The Task Editor screen opens In the left pane, click the Scenarios node as shown in the following figure:

  3. On Click the left pane, click the Add Task Scenario button (Image RemovedImage Added).
  4. Enter the details in the following fields:
  5. Task name
  6. Description of the Task,
  7. File Name

    InfoThe task name must not contain the special characters:/, \, :, *, ", <, >, |, %, and #.
    The File Name field is not editable after the task is saved. The task file is saved with .xml extension in the QualitiaProjectPath\<projectname>\Tasks folder Scenario Name and Scenario Description.
  8. Click SaveClick the Add Step button (Image Removed).
    A new row is added to the task grid.
    Do the following in the order listed:
  9. If it is an object-based action, select the required object by clicking Object field.
  10. Select the relevant Actions for the selected objects clicking Actions field.
    Depending upon the Action selected, the Parameter fields get populated with the default parameter name.
    Note: The Parameter fields are blank for the Actions that do not require any parameters.
    Similarly, you can add more steps in the below rows. 
    Qualitia recommends clicking the Save button (Image Removed) regularly to save the updates that you have made in the task.
    After a task is created, you can import it when creating or editing test cases from the Test Case Editor screenYou can now add new test cases

Editing a

Task

Before you edit a task, ensure that it does not impact all the associated test cases.\

Whenever you edit a task,  other users can now view the following information :

  • The changes in task steps

  • The user who edited the task

  • The date and time when the task was edited

To edit a task

Scenario

Perform the following steps to edit a scenario.

To edit a scenario:

  1. From the Collapse Expand Menu, click Develop.
  2. Click the Tasks tab.
  3. On In the left pane, right- click the task the scenario that you want to delete, and then select the Edit TaskScenario button (Image Added).
  4. To know how to edit a taskscenario, refer to Adding a TaskScenario.Qualitia recommends clicking the Save button () regularly to save the updates that you have made in the task.

Deleting a

Task

Scenario

You cannot delete a task scenario that is used in contains a test case.

To delete a task:

  1. From the Collapse Menu, click Develop.
  2. Click the Tasks tab.
  3. On the left pane, right-click the task that you want to delete, and select Edit Task.

Viewing Test Cases Associated with a Task

Qualitia allows you to view test cases associated with a task. You can view the associated test case names, their manual test case IDs, and descriptions.

To view the test case associated with a task:

From the Collapse

If you do not want a scenario, you can move all the existing test cases of the scenario to another scenario, and then delete that scenario.

To delete a scenario:

  1. From the Expand Menu, click Develop.
  2. Click the Tasks tab.
  3. On the In the left pane, right- click the task scenario that you want to delete, and select View Test Casesthe Remove Scenario button (Image Added).
