Upgrading Qualitia from 3.14 to 4.1.0

In order to upgrade to the latest version, you need to set up an environment.  

• Qualitia WebDriver v3.14.
• It is strongly recommended to back up Qualitia server databases (Master, Project and Result Databases).
• Identify a File Server and and create a folder to keep all the Qualitia Installables. This File Share will be used by Qualitia to apply any future upgrades / update packages. It is mandatory that all the Qualitia users should have have Read Access to to this folder.

Upgrading Qualitia Server

When upgrading to a new version of Qualitia, you must first ensure that you have taken a back up of your Qualitia databases. Upgrading Qualitia includes upgrading the Qualitia server and client.

1. Open the folder on the Flie Server where where you have kept Qualitia Installable.

2. Open the the Server folder folder.

   Note
   Executing Setup.exe from file server may take longer time. Therefore, it is recommended to copy Setup.exe in the local temporary folder.

   
   

3. Double-click click Setup.exe.
   The The Welcome screen screen is displayed.
4. Click Click Next.
5. As you are already using previous version of Qualitia, system will notify to upgrade to the latest version. Click Click OK.

6. Enter

   Database

   Server

   server details.

   Fields	Description
   Database Type	Select the database type (MySQL or MSSQL) from the drop-down list.
   Server	Enter the Host Name or IP Address of the Qualitia database server.
   Port	Enter the Port number of the Qualitia database server. Default is 3306 for MySQL and 1433 for SQLServer.
   Database Name	Enter the master database name.
   Authentication (for SQLServer only)	Select authentication mode. SqlServer Authentication: Login with SQL Server user account (Enter User ID and Password) Windows Authentication: Login with Windows account.
   User ID	Enter the database server user ID.
   Password	Enter the database server password.

   
   

   Note
   In MySQL this database user ID should have Grant All privileges on the database. In SQL Server this database user ID should have DBO privileges on the database.

   
   

7. Click Click Next.
   A A Project Details screen screen is displayed with all the existing list of projects. 

8. Click Click Next.
   The The Qualitia Update Location screen screen is displayed.

   Info
   Qualitia update location is the network shared location in the file server where Qualitia will look for update packages. For details please refer to the Prerequisites section above.

   
   

9. Enter the details as follows:

   
   

   Fields	Description
   Server	Enter the location where Qualitia will check for server updates.
   Client	Enter the location where Qualitia will check for client updates.

   
   

10. Click Click Next.
    The The Confirm Installation screen screen is displayed.
11. Click Click Install.
    The installation will get started and after a successful installation, the the Installation Complete screen screen is displayed.
12. Click Click Finish to to exit the setup wizard.
    
    

Upgrading Qualitia Client

This activity should be done once the the Qualitia Server is is updated.

To upgrade Qualitia client:

1. Refer to the the /wiki/spaces/DOC/pages/13797903section  section for Qualitia Client before upgrading Qualitia Client.
2. Open the folder on Flie Server where you have kept Qualitia Installable.

3. Open the the Client folder folder.

   Note
   Executing Setup.exe from file server may take longer time. Therefore, it is recommended to copy Setup.exe in the local temporary folder.

   
   

4. Double-click Setup.exe.

5. System will ask for permission to run the application, click click Yes.

   Note
   If you have not uninstalled the previous version of Qualitia, system will uninstall it with prior notification.

   The The Qualitia Installer Installer screen is displayed.

6. Once you have reviewed reviewed Qualitia License Agreement, select select Yes, I accept the terms…, and then click click Next.
7. Once installed successfully, click click Finish.
   You can now start working with Qualitia.
8. To launch Qualitia, double-click the the Qualitia icon icon on your desktop.
   
   

Upgrading Qualitia from 4.1.0 to 4.1.x

Applying product updates will give you an enhanced experience of working with Qualitia Automation Studio.

Prerequisites

• Qualitia WebDriver 4.1.0.
• It is strongly recommended to back up Qualitia server databases (Master, Project, and Result Databases).

Upgrading Qualitia Server

Qualitia administrator user has to initiate the update process applying server updates logging on to the Qualitia Administrator account.

To update Qualitia Server:

1. Open the Qualitia Update Location defined when Installing Qualitia Server.
2. Replace the content with Qualitia Product Update.
    Once the Qualitia Update Package is placed on the designated location, Qualitia intelligently picks it up when logging on as an administrator user.
3. Log on to Qualitia as an administrator user.
4. Once you enter user credentials and click Log On, Qualitia informs the user that the next update is available.

5. Do one of the following:
   • If you want to update Qualitia Server, click Yes.
   • If you want to ignore the update and continue working on the previous version, click No.
6. It is recommended to use the updated product versions applying available product updates for seamless user experience.
7. Once you click Yes, Welcome to the Qualitia Setup Wizard screen appears.

8. Click Next.
   All the database server details appear.
9. All these fields are displayed in non-editable mode, click Next.

10. Click Next.
    The Confirm Installation screen appears.

11. Click Install.
12. Once installed successfully, click Finish to exit the setup.

Upgrading Qualitia Client

Once the administrator has updated Qualitia Server, other Qualitia users can update respective clients.

To update Qualitia Client:

1. Double-click the Qualitia icon.
   If the server is updated, Qualitia users (other than the administrator) will get a notification about updating Qualitia Client.
    Qualitia users will not get this notification if Qualitia Server is not updated.

2. Once the installation process is completed, click Finish.
