Sometimes you may need to edit a test case. You can change the name of a test case, manual test case ID, and description or you can also change the order of execution of tasks or remove a task from a test case.

Only one user is allowed to work on one task or test case at a time. If the task/test case is being used by some other user, Qualitia displays an appropriate information message. If a step contains objects highlighted in red, then it does not contain a property or property value. Such objects are termed as empty objects. A test case created for a desktop project might have deleted OR objects that are highlighted in red along with the exclamatory marks. |
You can use error up and down buttons to navigate through empty objects.
To edit a test case:
- Click Develop > Test Cases.
- On the left pane, select a scenario under which the required test case is listed.
All the available test cases are displayed in right pane of the screen. - Select the required Test Case from the right pane.
- Click Edit.
The Edit Test Case screen appears. - Edit the required fields displayed on the screen which includes Scenario, Test Case Name, Manual TC ID, and Description.
- Click OK.
- Click Add Task, Import Task, or Detach Task to add a new task, reuse an existing task, or detach the task from the test case.
- Select the task in a test case, click Up/Down to change the order of execution of tasks.
- Select a step in a task, click Up/Down to change the order of step within a task.
- Click Save.
The test case is saved with updated values. - Optionally, click Run to dry run a test case as per the default Execution Profile to verify that test case meets the desired test requirements.
Note: For testing on desktop applications, you can dry run a test case from any step. You need to select the step from where you want to execute, right-click and select Execute from the Step.
The test execution report gets populated to analyze the test results.
