The Object Repository Manager of MicroFocus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) adds and maintains the set of objects as tsr files. For more information on this, please refer to the UFT One Help Center.

The purpose of having OR objects is to reuse all the UFT objects present in the tsr file. You cannot add, modify or remove OR objects manually. Also, Qualitia allows you to sync with the updates in the tsr file.

Mapping a tsr file with a Qualitia Project

Once you create a tsr file containing the objects of an application under test, you can map it with a desktop project to

If you have defined the location of the associated tsr file in the Global TSR Path while creating the project, then you can view the OR objects in the objects screen of the project.

To map a tsr file with a Qualitia project:

  1. Go to Admin > Projects.

  2. Click Edit to next to the desktop project for which you want to map with a tsr file.

  3. Enter the location of the tsr file, in Global TSR Path.

  4. Click Save.
    The Objects screen displays all the objects in the OR tree node of the Objects screen.

Syncing OR Objects with a tsr File

You must ensure to sync the OR objects every time the associated tsr file is updated

Before you start syncing, you can preview to check whether all the objects in the updated tsr file are present to create the required test cases.

  • On the Objects screen, you can view the complete information for all the objects including the last date and time on which it was updated and synchronized from the tsr file.

  • If you have started syncing the OR objects, then other users cannot sync or cancel the syncing process, until the synchronization completes.

  • If the object name contains a Non-English character, the report might not display it correctly.

  • If the tsr file contains objects that Qualitia does not supports, then the report displays such objects in the report.

To sync OR objects with a tsr file:

  1. Open the Qualitia project for which you need to update its OR objects.

  2. Click the Develop tab.
    Note: If your test cases are ready, then you can sync from the Execute tab.

  3. Click the Sync TSR button placed at the top-right corner.

  4. Do one of the following:

Preview the new set of objects as a report in a CSV format. The report shows all the objects that are new, modified, and deleted by comparing them with the current OR objects.

After viewing the objects in the report, you can click Proceed or Abort as explained in this table.

Proceed

Sync with the updated objects of the tsr file.

Abort

Cancel syncing with the updated objects of the tsr file.

After the syncing process completes, in the OR node, all the deleted objects are highlighted in red along with an exclamatory mark.

Replacing the Mapped tsr File

Perform the following steps to replace the mapped tsr file with another tsr file.

To replace a mapped tsr file for a project:

  1. Go to Admin > Project.

  2. Click Edit to next of to the project for which you want to replace its mapped tsr file.

  3. Click Browse to locate another tsr file, in Global TSR Path.

  4. Do one of the following:

Map the OR objects with the new tsr file.
